International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia

International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia

The International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia (IDAHOTB) is an annual observance held on May 17th. It was created in 2004 to draw attention to the discrimination and violence experienced by lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ+) people around the world.

IDAHOTB provides an opportunity to raise awareness about the challenges faced by LGBTQ+ people, including discrimination, violence, and social stigma. The day also serves as a reminder of the importance of promoting equality and human rights for all people, regardless of their sexual orientation or gender identity.

The day is marked by a range of events and activities, including marches, rallies, workshops, and cultural events, all aimed at promoting awareness and understanding of LGBTQ+ issues. These events are organized by a range of groups, including LGBTQ+ organizations, human rights groups, and community groups.

IDAHOTB is an opportunity to celebrate diversity, promote acceptance, and encourage everyone to stand up against homophobia, transphobia, and biphobia. By working together to promote understanding and acceptance, we can create a world where everyone is free to live their lives without fear of discrimination or violence.
